Madam Bernice Adjei, is a multifaceted leader who combines management expertise with a deep commitment to mental health and employees’ wellness advocacy. Her educational journey, which includes pursuing a Doctor of Management degree at GIMPA, demonstrates her dedication to personal growth and knowledge acquisition. Her academic achievements, particularly her Doctor of Management degree, Master’s in Higher Education, as well as Master’s in Nursing Science (Education), provide a solid foundation for her work in management and employees’ wellness at MDPI. Additionally, her international education and professional registrations reflect her commitment to upholding professional standards at the public sector institution like MDPI. Her negotiation and lobbying skills have been instrumental in forging critical partnerships for MDPI. Her managerial and communication skills foster a positive organizational culture and teamwork, and her leadership approach is characterized by transformational, servant, and situational methods. Her career accomplishments as the Director General of MDPI are the evidence to her remarkable leadership and management abilities.
She has played a pivotal role in enhancing MDPI’s growth, financial performance, and reach. Notable achievements include the expansion of training programs and partnerships with institutions like Accra Technical University. Her contributions to the Sustainable Competitive Responsible Enterprise (SCORE) Program and leadership in the training of over 2000 teachers in Ghana Education Service further highlight her impact on the education, productivity, and managerial landscape in Ghana. With the SCORE Program, her contribution became evident when through her negotiation and lobbying skills she was able to showcase MDPI to the Director General of ILO in Geneva when they were about ending the program and needed a credible institution to take up the SCORE Program, and MDPI was chosen. Madam Adjei contributed significantly to the institute’s development, focusing on policy review, corporate branding, and international representation. Specifically, she spearheaded the introduction and launching of Productivity Awareness Campaign in Accra, which led to the greater consciousness of productivity thinking among private and public sector organizations. More so, Madam Adjei’s leadership has currently brought about the establishment of Kaizen Secretariat at the MDPI to enhance the concept of continuous improvement among the SMEs and corporate institutions in Ghana.
